Jakarta: The government will accelerate its home renovation program, officially known as the Self-Help Housing Stimulus Assistance (BSPS), with a set target of 400,000 units nationwide.
The plan was discussed during a meeting in Jakarta between Housing and Settlement Areas Minister (PKP) Maruarar Sirait, Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian, and Head of the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) Muhammad Yusuf Ateh.
“The Ministry of Home Affairs will work to promote and support the program,” Tito said during an appearance on Metro TV’s Prioritas Indonesia on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.
Tito said the program had received a positive initial response from the public, adding that support from local governments would be key to its execution and success.
The Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas also plans to simplify beneficiary eligibility criteria as part of efforts to speed up program delivery, while expanding access to housing assistance for eligible recipients.
Maruarar Sirait ensured that the program would comply with applicable regulations and reach the intended recipients.
The meeting also covered plans to build permanent housing for disaster victims, and review Building Approval (PBG) requirements for low-income households (MBR).
