REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has provided Presidential Assistance (Banpres) in the form of 50,000 food packages for people affected by the earthquake disaster in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) this Saturday (15/8). This assistance is a manifestation of the government's commitment to move quickly to deal with the impact of the earthquake.
“50,000 food packages from Banpres have been delivered to Maumere for the affected communities,” Chief Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said in a statement on Saturday.

Simultaneously, Prabowo also assigned several central officials to direct to Labuan Bajo and Maumere. Those assigned are the Coordinating Minister for Human and Cultural Development (PMK), the Minister of the Interior, the Minister of Public Works, the Head of the National Agency for Disaster Management (BNPB), and the Head of Basarnas.
Furthermore, Deputy Minister of Health, Deputy Minister of Social Affairs, as well as teams from PLN, Pertamina, Telkom, and Bulog. “President Prabowo has ordered all ranks to move quickly to address and ensure the affected communities get the help they need,” Teddy said.

In a press conference in Jakarta held today, BNPB head Suharyanto said the Banpres sent by Prabowo was immediately distributed to needy citizens. “This is soon we will send to help with the initial logistical needs in the disaster area,” he said.
