Ministry of Transmigration Sends 1,476 Patriots to 53 Transmigration Areas Across Indonesia

Bogor: The Ministry of Transmigration has deployed 1,476 young “patriots” to 53 transmigration areas across Indonesia as part of the 2026 Patriot Expedition Team (TEP) program.
 
The TEP initiative is a flagship program under the Ministry of Transmigration’s 5T agenda, designed to serve as a foundation for new policies, innovations, investments, and economic activities in transmigration areas.
 
Their field findings are expected to help create jobs, boost regional productivity, strengthen local businesses, and connect regional communities with technology, markets, and investment opportunities.
 
Beyond conducting research, the patriots are tasked with assessing local potential, identifying challenges, and developing data-driven solutions to support regional development.
 
Transmigration Minister M. Iftitah Sulaiman Suryanagara emphasized the importance of gaining a deeper understanding of communities’ diverse challenges.
 
“Development cannot be discussed only in classrooms or meeting rooms. We must be present, understand problems firsthand, and work with communities to find appropriate solutions,” he said.
 
Iftitah also noted that several deep-rooted issues had plagued transmigration areas for decades.
 
“Some problems have persisted for decades and cannot be solved in a day or two,” he said.

“What matters is that we continue seeking solutions and moving forward,” Iftitah added.
 
For the Ministry of Transmigration, the program represents more than just a field research initiative; it is an investment in knowledge, innovation, and talent.
